Ishin Character Customization: Create and Change Your Student

Choose your first Ishin student and explore ways to change their appearance, from the salon and clothing store to rerolls and optional gamepasses.

Quick answer

You create your Ishin student when you first join the game, picking a name, gender, ethnicity, height and fighting style. After you spawn, you can change your look at the salon and the clothing store, spend rerolls for a fuller redesign, and pick up two optional appearance gamepasses.

  • Salon: change your hair color, or get a haircut at a salon chair
  • Clothing store: buy different clothes with Yen
  • Rerolls: you start with 20, and redeeming codes gets you more
  • Gamepasses: Accessory Adjustment (79 Robux) and Custom Hair (49 Robux)

Create your student when you first join

Character creation greets you the moment you first join Ishin. On that screen you choose your student's name, gender, ethnicity, height and starting fighting style, and then head into the game. Each choice shapes either how your student looks or how they fight, so it's worth a minute before you confirm.

Height deserves the most thought because it directly affects combat. Your height is tied to your ethnicity: taller characters have more reach and hit harder but attack more slowly, while shorter characters attack faster but with less range. Neither is wrong — pick the tradeoff that matches how you want to fight.

You are also given 20 rerolls during character creation, which you can spend rolling for a fighting style you like. There are 12 fighting styles in the game, so if the first result doesn't suit you, spend a few rerolls before locking your student in. For everything that happens around this screen, the Ishin beginner guide walks through the full first session.

Change your hair at the salon

Once your character has spawned into the world, the salon takes over hair duty. You can visit it to change your hair color whenever you want a different look. The salon chairs add a social layer on top: a player can take a seat and request a new haircut, which another player or an NPC barber then carries out.

Buy new clothes at the clothing store

The clothing store is where your outfit changes. It sells different clothes you can buy with Yen to update your appearance, and Yen is Ishin's main currency for clothes and other style items. That makes a wardrobe refresh a money question as much as a style one — if your balance is thin, the Ishin jobs guide covers where to work, how to clock in and what shifts pay.

Rerolls let you redesign your student

Rerolls are not only a creation-time resource. They are the currency for changing your character after the fact — from the way they look to their fighting style — giving you extra chances to redesign whenever you want a new face, hair or outfit. You start with 20, the same batch you receive during character creation.

When that starting batch runs dry, redeeming Ishin codes is how you get more. There is one prerequisite: codes only start working once you have joined the game's Roblox group. The codes page keeps the current working list, and the rerolls guide goes deeper into how rerolling works.

What you can roll for

The reroll pool is largely cosmetic. Player-made catalogs of rollable items show style themes such as grudge, gothic, y2k, realism, coquette and cute, covering items like head accessories, neck accessories, back accessories and eye colors. Customization characteristics also come in different rarities, so some looks are much harder to land than others.

No complete list of rollables is established — the fan catalog that circulates is explicitly marked as incomplete — so treat any item list you find as a sample of the pool rather than the whole thing.

Optional appearance gamepasses

Beyond the free routes above, the game's store page sells two optional appearance gamepasses for Robux. You can review both on the Roblox experience page maintained by the official luure developer group:

Both are pure cosmetic extras. They add flexibility for fine-tuning accessories and hairstyles without gating any core school activities, so nothing in normal school life requires buying them.
