How to Earn Yen in Ishin and What to Spend It On

Earn Yen in Ishin through jobs like the 800-yen pet cafe shift, then spend it on an apartment, a cat, clothes or a different fighting style.

The pet cafe shift pays 800 yen when you complete its cleaning and customer service tasks, and it's a practical first stop for earning in Ishin. Salon work, graffiti jobs, potion experiments and rooftop gardening also provide income, and jobs refresh on a timer so you can keep repeating them. Once you've saved up, Yen buys an apartment, a pet cat, new clothes and hair, or a different fighting style.

How to earn Yen in Ishin

Work a shift at the pet cafe

  1. Find the pet shop and cafe on the ground floor of the town complex.
  2. Speak to the store manager behind the front counter and choose the clock in dialogue option.
  3. Ring up customer purchases at the register when orders appear on screen, and search the cafe floor and tables to clean up dirty pet messes.
  4. Complete all the designated tasks in the room to collect your 800 yen wage immediately.

Quests and jobs refresh after a certain amount of time, so once the pet cafe resets you can clock in again and keep earning. The Ishin jobs guide covers where to work and what shifts pay.

Other jobs and activities that pay

  • Salon: style customers' hair.
  • Graffiti: spray street graffiti for a city thug NPC.
  • Science lab: run potion experiments.
  • Rooftop garden: grow plants.

Each of these repeats once its refresh timer resets, like other quests and jobs. For a sense of scale: in recorded first-day gameplay, one player collected 800 yen from a pet cafe shift and about 600 yen from a graffiti job, and another player reported working roughly an hour to accumulate about 20,000 yen. Those are single sessions rather than confirmed rates, but they show how regular shifts add up toward the bigger purchases below.

Promo codes

Promo codes can also award Yen directly. Codes are one-off rewards and can expire, so check the Ishin codes page for what's currently active and how to redeem.

What to spend Yen on

An apartment

Buy a residential lease at the reception desk, then find your assigned unit in the residential tower. A standard residential room costs about 12,050 yen, so budget roughly 12,000.

Inside, build mode lets you lay flooring (wood costs 1,000 yen), raise interior partition walls to divide bedrooms and bathrooms, place furniture, and set a permanent room spawn point. To load directly into your room, open your game settings, select the Main tab and switch Spawn at Apartment on. You can also grant friends building access by clicking the ID icon in the build menu and entering their username. The Ishin housing guide has more on setting up your space.

A cat

At the pet shop, cats cost around 3,000 yen — players in one gameplay video put the price at roughly 3,000 to 5,000 yen. To adopt one, pick up the cat you want, carry it to the front desk, and type a name onto the adoption certificate.

Clothes and hair

Visit the salon to change your hair color and the clothing store to buy new outfits. Alongside clothes, Yen covers furniture and room decoration for your apartment.

A different fighting style

Ishin has twelve fighting styles that determine your basic attack strings, weapon handling and special mobility maneuvers. You can cycle between them at the school dealer NPC by spending Yen or using promotional rerolls — the Ishin rerolls guide explains how rerolls work.

Send money to another player

Open the Bank app on your in-game phone, enter the recipient's username and an amount, then press Send. The transfer screen sets a minimum of ¥10. One guide also reports a 15,000 yen maximum per transfer, a 10,000 yen receiving cap, and a 20% system tax on transactions.
