Ishin Photos: Photo Booth and Phone Camera Guide

Find Ishin's town photo booth for group pictures, or use your in-game phone for scene photos and selfies.

Quick answer

You can take pictures in Ishin at the photo booth in town or with your in-game phone camera.

  • Photo booth: gather other players and take group photos together.
  • Phone camera: photograph the scene around you, or take selfies with other players in frame.
  • After a booth photo, you can view the picture again and draw on it.

Ishin treats photography as part of everyday school life: posing in the photo booth is listed among the game's high-school activities, right alongside rocking out in music rooms and checking the weather on your phone.

Find the photo booth in town

The photo booth is in the town area you explore around the school. Players have found it simply by wandering town, so keep an eye out as you explore — and step inside once you spot it.

The booth is made for group pictures. In one session, a player stumbled onto the booth, called everyone nearby over, and even roped in a passing stranger with pink hair before taking the photo together. Another group went in as a whole squad and had a spur-of-the-moment photoshoot. The booth takes a group, whether that's your friends or people you've only just met.

Look at your photos again and draw on them

A booth photo is not a one-look affair. You can open the picture and view it again afterwards: one player pulled their group photo back up ("Wait, let's look at the photo") and decided it was going to be their video thumbnail.

You can draw on the photo too. One player added a love heart to their group picture, and later in the same session another player's doodle turned up at the bottom of a photo. Signing a group shot or leaving a doodle for the people in it gives the picture a personal touch.

Take pictures with your phone

Your other camera is the in-game phone. The phone is Ishin's all-purpose device — its screen shows apps like weather, messages and contacts — and it doubles as a camera you can use while you're out and about.

Take the phone out, look at the scene you want, and take the shot: one player exploring town pulled out their phone, snapped a picture of two players fighting, and put the phone away again.

Selfies work on the phone as well, and other players can end up in the frame — one player took a selfie with a downed player lying on the ground next to them. Between candid scene shots and posed selfies, the phone covers the moments that happen away from the booth.
